2027 AP Exam Registration Information
All AP Students should register and pay for AP exams on Total Registration
The deadline for AP Exam Registration is Oct 23 at 7:00 PM
Late Registration: October 23, 2026, 7:01 PM through February 26, 2027 (Late fee is $40 per exam)
Cancellations after November 13, 2026 at 7 PM will incur a $40 per exam fee.
$25 Admin fees are non-refundable
Each student must register online and needs his/her own individual registration.
College Board charges $99 for each exam. In addition, students will pay a one-time administrative fee each year to offset the cost of testing materials, substitutes, etc. All high schools in Forsyth County charge a one-time-per-year fee of $25, regardless of how many exams a student takes.
Students taking online courses, whether year-long or second-semester only, must complete registration by the October 23rd deadline.
Exams are ordered only for students who complete ALL registration steps in My AP and Total Registration and pay all exam fees by the deadline.
Directions for Registration
STEP 1: Access My AP Classroom at https://myap.collegeboard.org/login.
- Students should log in to the My AP platform if they already have an account or create one if this is their first time registering for an AP Course, SAT, or PSAT exam.
- Using the unique join code provided by the instructor for the specific course and section, students can register for their exams and gain access to AP course materials.
- Join codes given by teachers are tailored to each course, teacher, and class period.
- Students can also locate their join codes on the Total Registration Home Page, Account History.
- Students MUST indicate on the College Board website for each AP Course whether they will take the exam in May.
- By default, each account is set to “Undecided,” so students must choose either “yes” or “no” regarding their intention to take the AP exam before the October 24th deadline.
- Students should use personal emails and not their FCS email for their CB account.
Students must remember to keep track of their College Board account login details, as schools do not have access to student accounts.
STEP 2: Total Registration (TR): http://www.totalregistration.net/AP/110922
The College Board platform focuses on gathering exam order details from students and does not handle payments. Parents/guardians must set up a Total Registration account, choose the AP Exams scheduled for May, and finalize the exam payments.
- Students should use the same account and login credentials they used last year
- Existing TR account holders can find the “Do you have an existing Total Registration account?” Login Here link at the bottom of the page.
- New students should create a TR account, which will be used in subsequent years.
- Ensure that your student's personal information and email match the details in your My AP College Board account, not a parent's email.
- Once inside the TR system, students select the exams they wish to take in the current academic year.
- If you are taking an online AP course, look for “Independent Study” under the teacher.
- Students enrolling in year-long or second-semester online courses are required to register by October 23rd; all registrations submitted after this date will incur a late fee.

Does the state of Georgia pay for one exam per student?
The state of Georgia will pay for one AP exam for Georgia public school students enrolled in AP courses in one of two categories:
- Category One: Students are public school students who individually qualify for the College Board fee reduction (example: Free /Reduced Lunch). For these students, the state of Georgia will pay for one AP exam in any subject. This excludes AP Business with Personal Finance and AP Cybersecurity.
OR
- Category Two: Public school students enrolled in AP STEM courses who do not qualify for the College Board fee reduction may qualify for one free AP STEM exam.
o Students enrolled in STEM classes will be allowed to take their first AP STEM exam at a reduced cost. Students taking only one STEM AP exam will still need to pay the administration fee of $25.00.
- When students register for payment in Total Registration and they are taking a STEM course, they must select “yes” for the Special Waiver question.
- Their registration will be placed in a hold queue to verify the STEM course.
- Once it is verified, the exam fee waiver of $99 will be deducted from their fee invoice, and the registration will be released for payment.
- Total Registration DOES NOT notify students that they may now proceed with registration payment.
- Students need to go back into their TR accounts within 48 hours of initial registration to check on the status of their registration and make payment.
It is the student’s responsibility to indicate at the time of test registration that they are taking a STEM exam and select “Yes” to the Special Waiver question to receive the $99.00 credit.
** If you register for your one free STEM exam and do not sit for the exam, you will be required to pay the $40 cancellation fee charged by the College Board
