Step 4 – (Opens Week of March 2 – Closes April 24) 2026-2027 Forsyth County Dual Enrollment Intent to Participate Form
- Complete the Forsyth County Dual Enrollment Intent to Participate Form, which opens the week of March 2 and closes on April 24.
- To find this form, log in to Infinite Campus PARENT PORTAL.
- Only 1 parent/guardian needs to sign off on the form, not both.
- “Expired” means “done” = you have successfully completed the form.
Step 5 – Apply to DE College(s)
- Research college admissions requirements for Dual Enrollment and decide which college(s) you will apply to. Be sure to complete all steps that the college lists on their Dual Enrollment admissions webpage. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Request your official high school transcript through Parchment (link below) and have it sent directly to the college.
- Take the required tests for admission to Dual Enrollment - may include SAT, ACT, Accuplacer.
- Send test scores directly to the college via the testing agency.
- Your school counselor DOES NOT have access to your SAT or ACT score.
- Your school counselor DOES have access to your PSAT scores. Email your school counselor a request to send your PSAT score and include the specific email address where it should be sent.
- Current 2025-2026 DE Students: Check your enrollment and eligibility status with your current DE college. Some colleges may require you to reapply for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Check your email at least 1 time per week for additional instructions from the college. You should be checking the email you used on your Dual Enrollment college application.
- Most colleges provide an application status check after submitting your application. Also check this weekly to ensure all documents have been received.
- Students who plan to apply to Georgia Tech for their Distance Math and/or Computer Science Courses:
- Because Georgia Tech’s Application does not open until May 15th, you will need to move forward with the steps listed below and then apply as soon as the application opens.
- It is our recommendation that you apply to a back-up college for DE in case you are not accepted at Georgia Tech.
Step 6 – Research College Course Offerings
- Research classes you want to take on the DE Course Directory (link below). Be sure you are looking at the correct college and academic year.
- The FCS Dual Enrollment Advisement Guide (link below) is a helpful resource!
- Click here to access the FCS Dual Enrollment Advisement Guide
- Use pages 9-12 for a list of common courses that may satisfy high school graduation requirements.
- Use pages 13-16 for math course recommendations.
- Use pages 17-18 for science course recommendations.

Step 7 – Notify your School Counselor and Submit Course Requests
- As soon as you have received acceptance to the college(s) you plan on taking DE classes at, please forward that acceptance letter directly to your school counselor. This is how you will notify your school counselor that you are ready for the next step!
- Georgia Tech Applicants: You still need to send an email to your school counselor letting him/her know your intent to apply.
- Your school counselor’s response will include a required presentation detailing the more in-depth ins and outs of being a Dual Enrollment student at South Forsyth High School. We are requiring both student and parent/guardian review this presentation since participating in Dual Enrollment is a big decision that impacts both your high school and college transcripts. Additionally, you will be asked to submit what course(s) you wish to take during Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and/or Spring 2027.
- Your school counselor will review your course requests. If approved, he/she will add them to the Funding Application and let you know as soon as that is complete. If denied, he/she will email you to let you know the issue. *Please be sure you are checking your email regularly.*
- IMPORTANT! Please note that school counselors will not be available over the Summer to review/approve any new requests or changes to initial requests. As a result, requests must be submitted well before Summer Break begins. School counselors return from Summer Break in late July, but that may be too late for you to get into the course(s) you desire. Therefore, do not delay! Be proactive! Get everything set before you leave (and school counselors leave) for Summer Break!
Step 8 – Register for Course(s) with the College
Step 9 – Send your College Schedule to Your School Counselor
- Once you have registered for the course(s) with the college, you need to send a copy of your college schedule to your school counselor. DE schedules must be sent to your school counselor before the first day of each semester for Forsyth County Schools (see dates below):
- Summer 2026 Deadline: May 26, 2026
- Fall 2026 Deadline: August 5, 2026
- Spring 2027 Deadline: January 4, 2027
- If schedules are not submitted by the dates listed above, your funding for those classes will be removed and you will be put in face-to-face SFHS classes.

Accelerated Career Diploma
What is Accelerated Career?
Accelerated Career is an alternative path to earning a high school diploma for students with a clear career plan who want a faster route to the credentials needed for employment.
Unlike traditional students who complete 23 graduation credits, Accelerated Career students complete fewer courses (only 9 high school courses) and therefore are not typically eligible for direct admission to a four‑year college. Students planning to attend a four‑year college immediately after high school should consider other options.
Accelerated Career students who pursue two approved certificates, licensure‑leading programs, a diploma, or an Associate of Applied Science at a TCSG institution may use the ACE Grant. This grant cannot be used to complete an associate’s degree.
Who is Accelerated Career For?
Accelerated Career isn't a backup plan--it's a launchpad.
Built for students who know what they want and are ready to skip the waiting line, Accelerated Career students step straight into their careers with confidence, clarity, and speed.
